Blog by A. M.

June... It's June! I can't believe that we're halfway through this year! I created this blog in August of last year and for me, it feels like yesterday. How time flies! I remember how anxious I was to post for the first time because deep inside, I know that I'm not that good of a writer. Nonetheless, I didn't regret anything. In fact, I treat blogging as a way of filling in the gap of what skills I lack, and capabilities I have to enhance. After all, I'm still a newbie trying to improve in a professional way, so forgive me if you think I'm doing this all wrong. Hehe! :)

Okay. Let's get started to the main point of this post: MY 2017 SUMMER FAVORITES!!! I was super excited to share the things that I have been loving during the heat season. Fortunately, I found time to have the relaxation I deserved despite my hectic schedule.

One day vacay at Coco Beach Resort, Glan, Sarangani.

An out of the country vacation would be nice for summer adventures, but due to the fact that we can’t leave home and business for a week or two, my family and I ended up spending the weekend at the beach. As you can see, my body ain’t summer-ready so I’ll just let the scenery take your attention.

Snowball had her first beach family outing.

These photos were taken after the week when Snowball was given to us. I believe this also served as a welcome celebration for her. Just by looking at her photos, she really did have a great time. Yes, she’s a female, and I know the given name doesn’t sound so convincing as per the color of her fur. My mom told us to change it to Mocha or Caramel, but me and my siblings argued not to; we told her that her light brown coat will fade after a year. And yes, I can now see little changes. She’s turning 4 months old on the 26th. I think we are going to celebrate it by buying her vanilla ice cream and a new suit specially made for dogs.

Day and night essentials.

Here are just of the few skincare products that I’m recently using. I’m always under the sun when I was in college, and my skin color belongs to the category of morenas. So back then, I always brought my umbrella and/or my jacket with me just to protect my skin, and prevent it from getting darker. This is based on true experience: my skin is sensitive and easily irritated when it is exposed outside (this explains why my pimples and acnes were poppin’ back in highschool). So when I was in my sophomore year in college (the time where I realized I was hideous, lol), I struggled in finding the right face product that will help me get rid of them. I tried several products with different brands. Eventually, my mom’s friend recommended Garnier and since then, I bid goodbye to my pimples and acnes. I partnered it with aqua moisture facemasks, and have seen good results. It was after college that mom introduced NuSkin to me, and modesty aside, my face gets a bit lighter and firmer.

Music albums I can't get enough of.

I’m a fan of pop, indie, alternative rock and r&b music. I seldom listen to hardcore rock and country songs. Before picking a new song, I usually based it to its album cover or reviews from my friends. Moreover, when I decide to play a certain song, I always engage myself on the lyrics and the beat, and I tend to go the album to read other song titles. This summer, I was quite surprised to see myself listening to some of the artists that I never imagined to be my lifesavers when it comes to music. If you’d like to listen to these albums, here’s my top recommendations:

Harry Styles by Harry Styles // Sign of the Times, Two Ghosts, Sweet Creature, From the Dining Table

The Breaker by Little Big Town // Happy People, Lost in California, Better Man, Don’t Die Young Don’t Get Old, When Someone stops Loving You

Hopeless Fountain Kingdom by Halsey // Eyes Closed, Alone, Now or Never, Sorry, Bad at Love, Hopeless

Dua Lipa by Dua Lipa // best songs: ALL

TheLineUp

TheLineUp

TheLineUp

Maya x Julia

I discovered them one April afternoon after watching DIY and lifehacks videos in Youtube. The first two videos that I had watched were "Night Out Lookbook," and "Fall Lookbook 2016." After that, I become an official fan of them. I started searching their names, ages, current address, and basically, how they met. I was right at my first guess of Maya being half-Pinay, half-Swedish. She visits Philippines but merely on short vacays. Julia, on the other hand, is Vietnamese. If you want to know more about them, watch their vlogs and subscribe to their channel (TheLineUp). It's all about fashion, styling and lifestyle.

ToThe9s

ToThe9s

Cassie x Ricci

ToThe9s

ToThe9s' channel was on my recommended section of my Youtube home page. I stumbled upon their videos after a day of watching TheLineUp but didn't had enough time to stay and watch. I binge-watch their vlogs every weekend. I won't deny the fact that I was also one of the many victims of Ricci's and Julia's relationship. They look so alike that I thought they were related to each other, but apparently, they aren't. Anyways, Cassie and Ricci have Filipino blood and now residing in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. They make vlogs for their love for fashion and their passion to inspire. Don't forget to subscribe to their channel (ToThe9s).

What do I love most about TheLineUp and ToThe9s? Every video they make is 100% aesthetically pleasing.

Lang Leav's first novel, Sad Girls.

Nothing is better than having the first novel of your favorite poet. The satisfaction of being one of the few fans who has got to hold it, buy it, read it, finish it, and read it twice is unreal. Well, that’s the case for me. I think Lang Leav really gets not only me, but all of us. She put the emotions of every girl into writing. I felt and envisioned myself in the character of the girls mentioned in her book. On the positive note, I don’t wholly see myself as a certified member of the ‘Sad Girls’ club. There are possibly particular circumstances in my life that the unconditional love I have given was taken for granted. However, I fear not to love and being loved in return.

Lately, I've been obsessed with things that have the shades of green, blue and red. I guess the colors represent how lovely and vibrant this year's Summer was for me.
