I remember the first time that I saw you.
You were walking down the path that led you home,
not minding anyone else.
It was the time that I can't keep my gaze at you.
And all of a sudden, everything went slow.
Everyone around us went blur.
To my surprise, you loomed on the horizon.
Silly how fate had played at that surpassing moment.
In the course of time, we crossed paths and,
found rendezvous with love.
The timing happened as it should be.
Days turned weeks then weeks turned months.
Those were the times we stumbled upon
our sanguine state.
Yet to me, it felt short.
Out of nowhere, cold came.
I heard only silence from you.
It seemed that fate took its bargain,
and without a warning,
moved an iceberg between us.
I thought of ways to go over it but failed.
As my strength punched in,
I tried to tear it down.
Painfully, I failed again and this time,
I finally gave you up.
We broke apart.
It was sad. I was sad.
But did you know what shattered me the most?
The fact that you did only one thing —
you left me on the cold island of forlorn.
